Firefighters Battle Blaze at Apartment Complex Under Construction
Two people died in a five-alarm fire at a Charlotte construction site Thursday morning.
The fire broke out at an apartment complex under construction in the SouthPark area of Charlotte. Firefighters were called to the scene at 5:30 a.m. and found the building engulfed in flames.
Two people were found dead in the aftermath of the fire. Fire officials said the victims were workers at the construction site.
The fire was brought under control by 7:30 a.m. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
