Sixers Acquire Zhaire Smith in Mikal Bridges Trade
Former Suns Player Joins Philadelphia in Deal

In a surprising move, the Philadelphia 76ers have acquired guard Zhaire Smith from the Phoenix Suns in exchange for Mikal Bridges.
The move came as a shock to many, as Bridges had been a key player for the Suns in recent years, helping them reach the NBA Finals in 2021.
According to multiple league sources, the 76ers had no intention of trading Bridges when they drafted him in 2018. However, Bridges has since emerged as a valuable player for the Suns, averaging 12.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game.
Smith, on the other hand, has struggled to find his footing in the NBA since being drafted 16th overall by the Suns in 2018. He has averaged just 4.4 points and 2.2 rebounds per game in his career.
It remains to be seen how Smith will fit in with the 76ers, but the move is a clear sign that the team is looking to make a change.
